Day 12 & 13 |December 06-07, 2023

The participants are MSWD staff handling clients and special cases, barangay vaw desk officers and local women leaders and community development workers. This activity aims to introduce stress debriefing methodologies to the participants and enable them to become effective and capacitated stress debriefers and to develop local community workers who can be responders for persons in crisis situation in need of help. The 12 hour activity was all moderated by Dr. Johnny Decatoria, a well-known psychologists with vast experience in handling special cases that needs psychological first aid, stress debriefing and psychological evaluation. The event started with an opening message given by MSWDO OIC Ma. Eunelle A. Ulgasan, RSW. Introduction, stages and phases of stress debriefing were presented. The following day, a simulation activity was conducted for selected volunteers who were given challenged to apply stress debriefing for a certain given case.

In the afternoon of the second day, an orientation to newly appointed Barangay VAW Desk Officers was tackled by Dr. Richelle Verdeprado Mangga, RSW, MSW, PhD, JD. It was followed by an oath taking ceremony of BVAW Desk Officers administered by Hon Marilyn A Era and witnessed by PSWDO and MSWDO staff. Hon Marilyn A Era gave her message to all participants encouraging everyone to be vigilant and brave and empower themselves so they may be able to effectively deliver the right services and intervention to those in need.
